Dill Havarti Appetizer

After Lauryn's lovely cocktail that she introduced us to yesterday I figured I'd show my favorite and simple appetizer that I make when I have company. I absolutely love cheese and cannot have a dinner party without some sort of cheese tray or appetizer that includes cheese.  I think this stems from my parents who always have the widest variety of cheese at home.  My mother introduced me to this many years ago. With only two ingredients and taking less than 20 minutes to put together it's the easiest and one of the most tasty quick treats I've ever had. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Dill Havarti Appetizer

What you need:

  • 1 block of dill harvarti cheese (roughly 6-8 oz of cheese)
  • 1 package of Pillsbury crescent rolls

What to do:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take out a cookie sheet and spray with PAM.  Roll out the crescent roll as a full rectangle; do not pull them apart. Cut the dill havarti into slices about a quarter inch thick and lay them on half of the laid out crescent roll.  Next, fold the other half of the crescent roll on top of the other half with cheese.  Lightly press on the corners to keep the cheese in the crescent roll.  What we like to do is use a fork to go in about a half inch and create an imprint around the whole square to give it some decoration. Now it's time to bake for 12 minutes or until you see cheese oozing out the side.  Cut into little sqaures and serve!
