For day two of Cocktail and Apps Week, we bring you Wise Sage from Harvest Spirits. Derek Grout, founder of Harvest Spirits, inherited his family's apple farm, Golden Harvest Farms (make sure to take a trip up there during apple picking season!), thus giving him an ample supply of fresh ingredients to begin experimenting and forming a distillery. After many hours of dedication, Derek and just a few other distillers have now established three delicious products (or labors of love): Applejack, Pear Brandy, and today's main ingredient Core Vodka. Core Vodka is made from apples and could be the only vodka in the country actually made from apples.  Derek labels each batch with a number that coincides with his distiller’s notes that you can find on their website.  Enjoy this delicious recipe with my favorite app, Can’t Get Enough of Your Tomato Salad.
